Cookies with Cookatie feat. Christian and Michi

I bake (and eat) a lot of cookies, which is why I've been known as Cookatie basically since I moved to Vienna. Curious about the cookie baking process, some unsuspecting friends volunteered to assist me in my latest baking adventure. And now, for your viewing and baking pleasure, here is a (probably much too long with too many pictures, but what the hell) account of our evening, complete with your very own set of instructions:

Ingredient Nr. 1: Two helpers, preferably wearing identical shirts. Can't bake cookies without them, oh no.

Step 1

Chop up two large bars of cooking chocolate.

Step 2

Put 41/2 cups of flour,

2 teaspoons salt,

and 2 teaspoons baking soda in a bowl

and mix well. Set mixture and chocolate pieces aside for the moment.

Step 3

In a large bowl, mix 500g (4 sticks) of butter,

1 and 1/2 cups sugar,

1 and 1/2 cups brown sugar,

and 2 packets vanilla sugar until the mixture is creamy.

Step 4

One at a time, add 4 large eggs, mix well after each egg. Avoid juggling with eggs if possible.

Step 5

Gradually mix in flour mixture.

Step 6

Add previously chopped up chocolate pieces.

Step 7

Cover the cooking sheets with parchment paper and place heaped table spoons of dough onto sheets.

Step 8

Proudly present your accomplishment to whoever is willing to pay attention.

Step 9

Place sheets into oven and bake at 160 degrees Celsius for about 10 (??) minutes or until cookies are lightly golden brown.

Step 10

Wait. Drink beer.

Oh, and don't forget the dishes!

Step 11

Enjoy!

EDITED TO ADD: We made double the amount of the regular recipe, just so you are not shocked if you end up with a million cookies after following these instructions :)
