Venice: Bird's Eye View

A few years ago in Rome, my then 12-year-old sister, in awe of all that was to see, exclaimed: "Sometimes, I wish I was a bird with a camera!" What a perfect way to put it! This is a sentence that has stuck with me, and I always think of it when I am in beautiful new places. Standing at the top of the Campanile in Piazza San Marco, overlooking Venice, I almost felt like I was lucky enough to be that bird.
